A straight bit in a router is a great way to flush cut wooden plugs…if you’ve ever scratched your work piece or wood veneer I’m sure you will agree. Also trimming plugs in the center of a cabinet can be difficult with a flush cut saw because it’s difficult to get the right angle. Making an open-ended router base like this one will make trimming plugs quick and stress free. I suggest using a cordless router for this application so you don’t need to worry about cord management while you’re cutting the plugs.
