I’ve heard a lot of good things about Starbond superglues for filling gaps and cracks in wood, so I put it to the test to fill a gap and some knots that were on the bottom side of the Quarter Sawn White Oak top I made for a bookcase. Here’s the video and you’ll see the results:
Summary of Starbond for filling cracks and gaps:
- Starbond does a great job of filling small gaps and cracks
- The glue and accelerator dry extremely fast, which allows you to keep working on a project
- Starbond sands very well
- I still recommend a mixture of West System Epoxy and fine saw dust for filling large gaps
