In this episode, I unbox and assemble the SawStop 3HP Industrial Cabinet Saw. Be sure to read the owners manuals. It’s a good idea to remove everything from the box and spread all of the parts out on a table. Take inventory of everything and make sure you have all the parts outlined in the assembly instructions. We’ll start with flushing and tightening down the extension wing.

Then we’ll move on the front and back rails. Assembly is fairly simple as long as you follow the instructions closely. Next up is leg supports and the extension table. After securing the extension table, I attach the leveling feet to the legs and the assembled legs to the rails. Using a level on the legs, be sure the legs and feet are level before locking them in place.

After the main tube is hand tightened, drop the fence into the gap and lock it into place using a spacer on the opposite end of the fence. Give the fence a test slide to ensure it moves freely along the rail. Once the top and support system is complete, I move onto some simple wiring. Before plugging it in, I’ll make sure that the blade is secure, unobstructed and spins freely.

When the saw is powered on for the first time, the safety system runs a self analyzation routine to make sure that the safety is operating normally. Once complete, the green light will come on and you’re ready to go. Thanks for watching!

Each SawStop model is designed and engineered by woodworkers, for woodworkers. We take advantage of the freedom, and take on the obligation, to make a different and better tool. Our engineers avoid off-the-shelf components and old designs in favor of practical innovation. Our engineers know that the right materials, whether cast-iron or steel, are just as important as advanced technology. And the right time to use advanced electronics is when they improve the experience of the operator, never for an advertising gimmick.
