Frame System

$150.00

I designed this frame system for the small paintings I make. The panel fits into the frame with a reveal around the edges of the painting so the painting appears to float within the frame. The frame is 1.75 inches deep and designed to sit in a bookshelf or on a mantle. If you decide to hang your painting you can easily fasten the panel with a dab of hot glue or two screws in the back.

I like to start a painting on the easel and then I’ll bring the painting into my house and put it into one of the frames to look at before going back into the painting. Most of my small paintings are completed in 1 to 3 settings and the frame helps me to see the painting and decide what needs to be done next.

The frame also makes the painting look a little better and this gives me the confidence and motivation to continue working on it. I like small paintings, they don’t demand the attention that a large painting does. A small painting sits in the background waiting to be discovered like a poem or a short story.

Frame system includes:

  • 2 primed birch plywood panels that fit into the frame
  • Hand made of natural mahogany and stained dark walnut.
  • Measures 7.25” x 8.5” x 1.75”
