Here’s a fun beginner lathe project showing you how to turn a French rolling pin.  Using a wide sanding block with very coarse paper is a simple way to shape wood on the lathe. This “lathe hack”  allows you to create a smooth cylinder without any high or low spots.  Working on the lathe is a great way to spend time in the shop and it’s always nice to have a functional finished product at the end.
