In this episode, I take a good look at the Makita Track saw with Jeff from Greene Street Joinery. The cordless Makita Track Saw is a great tool that is simple to use and just as powerful as a corded saw. The saw even includes a cross-grain setting for a scoring pass before the final cut.
After a quick tour of the tool, it’s time to give it a go. The Makita Track Saw glides really well along the track and the only attachment to worry about is the dust collector hose.
The scoring cut feature works great and it’s not something I’ve seen on any other saws. Overall, this saw is on my list of soon-to-have’s. Thanks for watching, see you next time.
After a quick scoring and cut pass along the edges, we can finish the corners with a pull saw using a neat little trick of shimming the cuts so that the void piece doesn’t drop out. Very clever!
