I often trim flat panels with a simple piece of tapered molding. I like to make the tapered molding at either a 10 or 15° angle. The only problem is that can require a lot of sanding because making these rips will often leave blade or burn marks. A simple way to prevent burn or blade marks is to simply flip the molding as I explain in this video.
