I have a new saw coming into the shop so I thought I’d make some space for it by bringing the dust collection plumbing up to the ceiling. For this project, I’ll need to make some hanging brackets to support the weight of the piping.
I’ll start by ripping a piece of poplar at 2 inches. After cutting the long and short pieces of the brackets to length, I’ll use a pocket-hole jig to drill one hole in the center at the top and bottom of each side piece.
I’ll use some pocket screws to assemble the pieces and drop in a 2 inch spacer to ensure that the brackets are evenly spaced from the wall throughout the run along the ceiling.
The shop is really starting to come together and I’m excited to start making some furniture. The first piece of furniture planned is a chest of drawers made of walnut or white oak. I’m going to let the audience decide which wood to use so stay tuned! Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next time!
