I had a finish failure on this cocktail table I built with aluminum on both the top and sides and in this video, I show you how I refinish it using Butchers Bowling Alley Way which works great. Aluminum is a tricky surface to work with and I originally finished the table with a clear aerosol spray paint that didn’t take.
To apply the Butcher’s Bowling Alley Wax., use a clean cotton t-shirt as a rag and wrap it into a tight ball. Slightly dampen the rag with water and dab into the wax. I like to apply the wax by rubbing into the aluminum in the same direction that I sanded. Allow the wax to dry for 10 or 15 minutes and then buff the wax out with a clean cotton rag. Repeat the process if you want to add additional coats…I usually do 2-3 coats.
