Happy new year everyone! Well I guess it’s true … Every picture does tell the story as you can see in this post.

The old barn

I found the subject for this Still Life Painting in the old barn across the road from the Vermont house. We bought the house and barn back in 2006.

Vermont House

When I first walked into the barn to explore the old tools where sitting on the workbench and I imagined that is where the prior owner George had left them.

First time exploring the barn with my three son’s

Although I never knew George I imagined him using the tools when the world was a much different place.

I’ve always found something beautiful about old tools so I collected them knowing that one day they would find their way into a painting.

We sold the house and barn in 2015 but I still have the tools and I’m sure that one day I will paint them again.

My oldest son Jack

I’m planning to paint more in the new year and also teach painting lessons on my 2nd channel. I’m working on a painting lesson now and hope to have it up before the end of January… I’ll keep you posted.

All of my painting lessons will be painted on 5 3/4 x 7” panels. The panel and frame systems are available on my site or you can make them yourself. Hope everyone had a nice holiday and I’ll see you in the next video.

Be good, Jon
