This simple bike rack is made with three pieces of plywood. The piece in the center needs to be a little smaller than the width of the tire. This will create a friction fit that will hold the bike in place.
The Half inch dowel works as a locking pin and will prevent the bike from falling if the tire deflates.
The nice thing about this bicycle rack is that you don’t need to lift the bike.
My bicycle is a pedal assist electric mountain bike that weighs 56 pounds so it would be difficult to lift into a rack.
Simply roll the bike on its back wheel interposition, push the front wheel into the rack with the friction fit then walk around and insert the locking pin and you’re done.
