Hi everyone, in my latest woodworking project I build a shaker inspired bench. This bench is made of solid cherry and the legs are turned. If you don’t have a lathe you could also build this project with tapered legs or even straight legs and I still think it would look great! ….But if you do have a lathe and not a lot of experience this is a great woodworking project to get some practice with. One of the design decisions in this woodworking project was to join the boards for the top at the shape wood. I often do this when working with cherry because it makes the seam virtually disappear and adds a nice design element as the cherry darkens over time.
