I built the log rack out of treated lumber. The main frame that supports the logs is made from 2 X 6s. The posts are 4 X 4s and connected to the frame with Lap joints. After getting the rack into position and adding a 4 x 4 post at the ends, I used a 2 x 6 at each outer edge and a 2 x 10 in the center to hold the logs . The idea for this design is the logs will span the gap with a small space between the two rows and be suspended a little more than a foot off the ground. This will allow for airflow and keep the wood dry. I decided not to use a roof on this design but one could easily be added if you decide to.
