Router Table Upgrade With Built-in Air Filter

Hi,
I recently partnered with AlorAir, who sent me an air filter to check out before featuring it on my YouTube channel, and I’m honestly impressed. It’s well built, cleanly designed, and has a really nice finish.

Buy NowSince my shop is tight on space and I didn’t want to hang a unit from the ceiling, I decided to build the filter into a router table cabinet. I’ve had a router table for years, but I rarely used it because it was too low. This new cabinet, along with 5 1/4-inch casters, brings it up to a comfortable 34 inches.

I started with a simple pocket-hole frame, leaving space open for the filter exhaust. Then I built the face frames so the filters can still be accessed and replaced.

After attaching the sides and back, I adjusted the base height to align everything properly, drilled a hole for the power cord, and installed the top.

Finally, I mounted the router table and added a power strip on top of the cabinet to run both the router and the air filter.
It’s a great addition to the shop, and I’m already finding myself using the router table more often.

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one, Jon
