Good morning all, started the day off with a quick hive inspection. Everything is looking really good to me in the hive, but this is my first year keeping bees and I have a ton to learn. It’s great to see that the bees are building their comb and are eating more sugar than ever….more that a pound a week! Maybe they’re just getting ready for winter or maybe there are just fewer flowers now in bloom as summer progresses. I noticed a few small hive beetles when I was feeding the last time so you can expect a short video on how to build a small hive beetle trap for a top bar hive in the near future. Have a great day!
