I take a look at the Sapele kitchen countertop at my brother Will’s house to see how the inside miter joint is holding up.  The countertop was installed about four years ago using pocket screws that were placed every inch and a half or so and the miter joint is still very tight with no separation whatsoever.  I would definitely recommend using pocket hole screws on wooden countertops to keep the miter joints tight.  Here’s a video showing the countertop, the LED lighting my brother installed in the kitchen, as well as the sink I installed for him.

The miter joint is still very tight and in perfect condition.
