My mother-in-law made me a painting called Yellow Roses, painted on a 5×7 canvas panel. I framed it inspired by your techniques. The frame is pine milled to 3/8″ thick by 1 1/4″ wide. I added an inner rim of wood so that the painting is inset about 1/4″ with about a 1/8″ reveal. The painting is secured to the rim with double sided tape.
I sprayed the frame a light sage and then rubbed on two shades of green paint with my fingers.
I had all the materials on hand so it cost me nothing. This is my first handmade frame and I’m pleased with the result. Most importantly, I think it shows off my mother-in-law’s work nicely.
Thanks for the inspiration!
