Here’s a fun shop project using the lathe to turn a wood mallet from a piece of a Dogwood tree. The Dogwood was dead and I cut it down in the yard and I was surprised how heavy and dense the wood was. It’s still a little moist and green but it’s always great to get some shop time and use the lathe.
